In Birth –
We’re free from sin
Unaware of whom we came
Ignorant of what we’ll find
When age begins to cloud our minds
In Youth –
We’re free from cares
We’ve only started climbing stairs of life
And should we fall?
Sometimes it matters not at all
In life –
We weave a tale
We laugh, we cry, we win – we fail
We sacrifice, or so it seems
For pride, for shame, for fantasy
In sleep –
Our truths take form
The mists of fear and love and scorn
And mortals share them all alike
Our pleasures past and futures bright
Alas –
Thine eyes shall see
The great release, sweet soul be free
Goodnight, my child….. all is well
Let your spirit sail……
